2008の夏、東京スクールオブミュージック渋谷に通いながら、Kay.D(pro/comp)とLynn(vo)が出会って、moonshine fishを結成。
2008年9月にはStella(key/comp)が加入。 2008年11月にはRyu(guitar)が加入、４人で本格的なライブ活動に向けリハーサルを開始。
2009年に入りファーストシングル「Melancholy Welcomes the Year's First Snow」がリリースされる。
2009年2月14日のライブによりRyuが脱退して、3人編成になってます。4月から活動を復活する。

moonshine fish was formed in the summer of 2008 by Kay.D (Programming/Composition) and Lynn(Vocals), who met while enrolled in Tokyo School of Music Shibuya.
In September of 2008, Stella (Keyboard/Composition) joined the band, and they began the final stages of recording for their upcoming single.
In November of 2009 Ryu (guitar) joined the band, and the four members began rehearsal in preparation for concerts.
In January of 2009, their first single, "Melancholy Welcomes the Year's First Snow" was released. Following their February 14th live, Ryu left the band due to musical differences. The three-piece moonshine fish resumed activities starting in April.
