Rocket Engine
Countdown ticking. Jaw clenched, listen. Hand on the throttle, Heart on a mission, yeah. Strap in, Count down. Breath held, Touch ground? Nah, Built this from scraps. Grease on my palms. Late night math. Coffee and psalms. Blew past fear, Like fumes in the air. Screws on the table, Steel in my stare. They said stay down. Stay in your lane. I welded my name. Right onto the frame. I been in the lab, late, blue flame in my veins. Notes on the wall, whole room lookin’ insane. Scratch math, black coffee, cracked phone screen. Tryna turn one wild thought to a big machine. Fan blades hum like a restless mind. Every failed test just refines the design. Hands smell like steel, graphite on my face. But I see sky every time I brace. Rocket engine, Light it, let it roar. I’ve been grinding in the hangar. Now I’m blowing off the door. Rocket engine, Pressure in my chest. If I’m flying too high, Then I’m dying in the quest, let it lift, let it lift. Spark in the chamber. Click, then flame. Watch that pressure. Match my name. From the basement. Up through clouds. Turn my failures, Into crowds. Every setback. Fuel in the tank. Every cold shoulder. Another rank. I don’t beg gates. I break through locks. Launch pad ready. Feet on the blocks, go. They said “stay safe,” I said “stay true”. Risk on the table like late-night food. Burn on my knuckles from the last test fire. But the scorch marks spell out “go higher”. Blueprints spread on a hand-me-down desk. Dreams so loud that I barely get rest. Every setback just turned to thrust. I turn doubt into flame, turn fear into dust. Rocket engine, Light it, let it roar. I’ve been grinding in the hangar. Now I’m blowing off the door. Rocket engine, Pressure in my chest. If I’m flying too high, Then I’m dying in the quest, oh yeah. Three… two…Can’t stop now, One… then. Feel that pow. If I fall back, I still left flame. Burned my trail. Carved my name. Rocket engine in my chest, I ignite, I rise. Pressure buildin’ in my ribs, I refuse to die. If they ask how high, I just tear the sky. Rocket engine in my chest, watch me multiply, hey. Three… two… one… I’m past that. Launched long ago, can’t backtrack. If I fall, I fall through stars. Even my crash leaves light on hearts, woah. Rocket engine, Light it, let it roar. I’ve been grinding in the hangar. Now I’m blowing off the door. Rocket engine, Pressure in my chest. If I’m flying too high, Then I’m dying in the quest, dying in the quest.
